In Mandated Reporter Training it's easy to take trainings over again to create a new certificate with an updated completion date.
Retake Training
Assuming you've completed the training once before, all you need to do is navigate to the My Training tab and click Retake Course to reload it and add a new session.
Below is an image of what you should see when attempting to retake a training.

A couple of things will happen:
- A new row will show in the My History section along with today's date.
- The courses section will now have a button that says Start Course. Click this button to begin training.
Refresh Page
If for some reason you are not seeing the Retake Training button, you are sure you've completed the active session (and it's been more than an hour since you completed), try refreshing your browser. Sometimes your browser remembers where you were last and a good refresh will help flush it out.
*Note for California Users: The general training course is a required pre-requisite for all of the profession-specific trainings including: School Personnel, Child Care Providers, Mental Health & Social Workers, Medical Professionals, Law Enforcement, and Clergy. We're aware that California's Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) previously made the general training a one time requirement. However, as of June 2023, this has changed. Because the general training course includes a large amount of the baseline requirements for mandated reporters, including information that gets updated frequently as legislation changes, OCAP is now requiring this course to be retaken to earn a new certificate. However! With the change in June 2023 is also a newer shorter course! What was previously a four hour general training course has been optimized to just two hours. In addition to shortening the audience courses, this means you can now complete your entire profession-specific training in less time than the original general training. |
